I feel as though I have been working towards The Artist Project show forever, but it really has only been three months of all nighters.  I can't wait to show my newest work! If you are in the Toronto area I hope you will be able to come out and say hi. There will be over 250 artists there and it's a really great way to meet the artists in person. I will be showing 10 of my newest paintings and also releasing 5 new monoprints from my Painted Light series!

I recently came across this letter from Sol LeWitt to Eva Hesse that really floored me ... The fact that artists such as these had thoughts of self-doubt, constantly questioning their work, really gives me some hope. Maybe this is the natural process that propels us forward to make new and better work?
As an artist filled with these thoughts, having "agonizing reappraisals" of my work all the time, this really moved me!

It is so easy for me to become preoccupied with my plans and goals. So focused on making them happen. I seem to have forgotten a very important step along the way. The process. Enjoying the process and not just impatiently going through the motions to get to the next step. A very dear friend of mine pointed this out to me the other day, as dear friends do... The importance of enjoying the now and living in the moment.

When I was younger I would go about my day with a sketch book or a camera and would be constantly inspired by the smallest of things. Well, as you know, life gets busy and those things become nonessentials, they melt away into the routine and necessity of the day. I feel as though I am now just slowly returning to that place. I am seeing so much beauty around me again and feeling the need, more and more to try to put what I see into paint. A day like today, definitely helps this!
