I am a painter living in Toronto with my husband and two young daughters. I spend most of my time in my dream backyard studio! I have also recently launched an art consultancy and artist collective, Opus Art Projects and Opus Art Collective. OAP is an art consultancy specializing in bespoke International hospitality, commercial & residential design projects. O/CO creates special and unique art editions for today's contemporary art collector.
My work is an investigation into image, perception and memory, touching on the ambiguity of texts - photographic, painterly or mnemonic, creating an encounter open to the viewer's own interpretation. I use glazing techniques, creating layers which capture a rich glow of light and a depth of colour. I am constantly drawn to light and strive to always be living in it.
My art has been exhibited across Canada and the United States and is included in many International collections.

FAMILY
My girls are now 11 and 13 and are such a huge part of my life. I feel it is so very important to include them in my art making practice as much as possible. I want them to have a strong, determined, hard working role model so that they too can grow up and choose who they want to be and know that they can make that happen.
ARTISTIC PROCESS

It is all about the process for me. How I build a painting, is made up of many many stages and layers. I work with thin layers, creating layer upon layer of glazes, until I am happy with the result. It takes many months of pushing and pulling, back and forth, closer and further until a painting is finally complete. I think of these layers almost as you would a photograph. Each layer represents the different colours in a photograph and how it is built up with many passes of colour to create a complete picture. This photographic quality has always been of interest to me. I take this a step further in paint, creating an abstracted, subjective reality where one can bring their own experience and memories. Each viewer has their own unique experience, and this is what I love!
For me this process is so important. It is my meditation. My time of healing. The simple gesture. The physicality and repetition of it. Mark making after mark making. Soft blendings. The viscosity and smell of the oils. It triggers something in me, shutting out the noise of the day. I will continue to heal in this process as I recover from a year of two brain surgeries and intensive radiation. Painting heals and I turn to this again now.
These are a few of the questions I am asked a lot.
If you have a question I have not answered here, please feel free to reach out.
1. HOW DO I BUY AN ORIGINAL PAINTING?
You can get in touch with me regarding any of my available works I have on my Available Paintings page.
2. CAN I COMMISSION A PAINTING?
Yes you can! Please email me to discuss. Typically a commission takes me around 3-4 months to complete.
Once a 50% deposit has been received to begin, I will work on several source images for you to choose from that will represent the direction for your commission.
The final 50% is due upon completion, once approved, prior to shipping.
3. PRINT QUALITY & DETAILS
All reproductions in my shop are Giclee reproductions and are created using a huge, very fancy printer that uses a wide range of archival inks applied so finely you cannot see the DPI a bit and are very long-lasting. They are printed on gorgeous high-quality 100% rag Hahnemühle archival paper.
All Reproductions are printed to order by my local print house which takes approx. 5-10 days.
4. FRAMING
I offer custom framing. Please email me for pricing.
All Framing is produced to order by my local frame shop which takes approx. 7-20 days.
5. YOU WOULD LIKE A LARGER PRINT?
The prints I offer from original paintings have been created by scanning the surface of my paintings with an "Uber Scanner", the most sophisticated fine art scanning technology in the world. The quality achieved is absolutely incredible! I am able to print to larger sizes if requested, within reason, as the quality of the print is very important to me. Please email to discuss.
6. RETURNS
Every order, commission, and sale is handled with care and as much clarity and transparency as possible. My goal is for you to be completely thrilled with your purchase! Because of this, all sales are final.
7. PRESS
I love working with bloggers, editors, stylists, and writers! There are many images on my site that you are free to use for your articles. Please be sure to credit me. If you have any questions, please email! I am always open to interviews and love sharing my story with the world!
